About Typing Com
Typing Com is a small, independent project built to help students, professionals, gamers, programmers, and office workers type faster and more accurately, without paying for software or signing up for anything.
Why We Built This
A few years ago, we noticed something frustrating. Most typing websites were either cluttered with pop-ups, required an account to see your score, or locked basic features behind a paywall. For something as simple as checking your typing speed, that felt wrong.
So we built Typing Com. The idea was simple. Make every tool fast, free, and available without registration. No email required. No credit card. No hidden "premium" tier that makes the free version useless. Just open the page and start typing.
Whether you are preparing for a government typing exam, improving your typing for office work, learning touch typing for the first time, or just curious how fast you can type, everything on this site is available to you right now.
What You'll Find Here
Typing Speed Test
A clean typing test that measures your words per minute, accuracy, and mistakes in real time. Choose from easy, medium, and hard paragraphs, and set your own timer.
Step-by-Step Lessons
Guided lessons that teach proper finger placement, home row technique, top row keys, and speed building. Each lesson has its own interactive practice so you can apply what you just learned.
Keyboard Tester
Quickly check if any keys on your keyboard are dead, stuck, or not registering correctly. Useful when you suspect a hardware problem is slowing down your typing.
