The home row is the foundation of touch typing. Learning the correct finger position will help you type faster and make fewer mistakes.
Correct Finger Position
Place your left hand fingers on:
- A key - Left pinky finger
- S key - Left ring finger
- D key - Left middle finger
- F key - Left index finger
Place your right hand fingers on:
- J key - Right index finger
- K key - Right middle finger
- L key - Right ring finger
- ; key - Right pinky finger
